Ira is an artist - at heart, at soul and truly in spirit. She has an amazing eye that rarely misses anything that has been created asthetically. Be it a painting, an illustration, a faucet, a chair,... she even notices the beauty in ink blots and sees shapes in the cracks in paint! She paints with her heart and can do without food, water, friends, toys and even her favourite - chocolate, just to paint. Ira is my elder daughter and at 5 years of age inspires not just her sister Arya (3), but also her parents and friends and all those who have been fortunate to experience it. She has made 'Child Art' into what Picasso himself aspired to create -
a work of uninhibited expression!
This piece was painted by her on a pencil drawing made by me, sometime in summer earlier this year (2007). To give her painting a finished look I worked it over with a black pen and marker. The resulting image has inspired a series of books for children, illustrated in the same style of spontaneous application of colour! Feel free to enjoy...

and this one was painted by Arya, a few months later, when she was about 2 years and 10 months old... led by inspiring example?
